With the rapid development of 5G, IoT and other emerging technologies, bandwidth demand is growing. To meet this demand, Passive Optical Network (PON) technologies are evolving accordingly. The current mainstream PON technologies, GPON and XGS-PON, coexist on the same fiber via Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), thus boosting network bandwidth and flexibility.
