Product introduction

RD-1008DSFXX External Media Converter is produced by FIBERWDM, it converts the 1000M Ethernet electrical signal to optical signal, and the optical signal is sent and received synchronously by single-core or dual-core fiber. The signal is transmitted in the optical fiber in the form of optical pulses, which has many advantages than the Ethernet signal transmitted by twisted pair: high security, strong reliability, fast transmission rate, long distance, etc., which is very suitable for solving the remote transmission of network cameras, computers, switches, and other equipment. The Gigabit fiber transceiver is fully compliant with IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3U, and 100Base-FX standards.

The module converts 8 channels of 100Gb/s (PAM4) electrical input data to 8 channels of parallel optical signals, each capable of 100Gb/s operation for an aggregate data rate of 800Gb/s.   On the receiver side, the module converts 8 channels of parallel optical signals of 100Gb/s each channel for an aggregate data rate of 800Gb/s into 8 channels of 100Gb/s (PAM4) electrical output data.   An optical fiber cable with dual MPO-12 connector can be plugged into the OSFP 800G SR8 module receptacle.  Host FEC is required to support up to 100m fiber transmission.
