GPON (Gigabit-Capable Passive Optical Network)
GPON supports downstream rates of 2.5Gbps and upstream rates of 1.25Gbps, with split ratios from 1:16 to 1:128; it adopts WDM technology to transmit video, data, and voice simultaneously over the same fiber, and is widely used in home broadband access, enterprise networks, and smart cities.
XGS-PON (10G Symmetric PON)
XGS-PON supports symmetrical 10Gbps uplink/downlink rates with split ratios from 1:16 to 1:256, using TWDM technology to coexist with GPON on the same fiber, and is suitable for high-bandwidth symmetrical transmission scenarios like enterprise networks, data center interconnection, and 5G fronthaul.
NG-PON2 (Next-Generation PON2)+PtP
NG-PON2 uses WDM technology to create up to eight wavelength-separated PON trees on the same fiber, supporting 10Gbps uplink/downlink rates with split ratios from 1:16 to 1:256, and supports TWDM-PON and point-to-point WDM-PON for various new use cases; it is suitable for enterprise networks, mobile backhaul and fronthaul, and scenarios requiring high bandwidth and flexible wavelength allocation.
OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer)
OTDR is a tool for fiber optic network fault diagnosis and maintenance, capable of detecting breaks, losses, and reflection points in the fiber, and is widely used in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.
